Jakarta – Ketum Gerindra Prabowo Subianto will meet with Ketum Demokrat (PD) Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY). Gerindra asserted, in the meeting, there will be no offer of vice presidential seats for the 2019 Pilpres.
“We do not offer Democrats vice presidential seats, those who want their best cadres to be vice president,” said Chairman of DPP Gerindra Ahmad Riza Patria at the House of Representatives, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday (20/07/2018).
Riza said his party has never offered the vice president a candidate for his coalition. It is the coalition candidate who wants his best cadre to be Prabowo’s companion.
“All PKS and PAN, we respect, and I think it should be so, the party must prepare its best cadres to emerge as national leaders. This is the evidence of the regeneration,” he said.
“But all parties must be realistic, only 1 that can be accepted as vice president because one place,” added Riza.
Nevertheless, Riza believes that the Gerindra coalition parties will stick to the chest of any vice presidential candidate to be elected by Prabowo. Therefore, the decision of vice president is the result of the joint decision of the coalition later.
“In the end it will be solid legowo whoever is elected whether from PKS, PAN, Democrat, or maybe even outside the party, all will accept during the joint decision,” Riza said.
As is known, until now the coalition Prabowo not clear. The three parties, namely PKS, PD and PAN, who are said to be close to the Gerindra coalition, have yet to determine the official stance due to the proposed vice presidential requirements.
Democrats give the terms of vice presidential seats, though not a dead price. They want the Chairman of his Kogasma, Agus Harimurti Yudhyono (AHY), married as vice president if willing to anchor support.
Not just Democrats, even PKS has even proposed 9 names vice president to Gerindra as a condition of the coalition. PAN also proposed the name of general chairman, Zulkifli Hasan, to be vice president as a condition of the coalition.
